Isla grew up dancing in her hometown, Bournemouth, and was a part of The Royal Ballet Associate program and Urdang associate program throughout secondary school. At 16 she gained a DaDA to attend The Urdang Academy 3 year professional dance and musical theatre diploma course. In 2018 she gained her BA with Guildford School of Acting. Upon graduating she performed in shows across the globe as an acrobat, dancer and singer. Working on stage and TV productions in shows such as Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz, Strictly Come Dancing and lots of pantomimes as leading roles.

Isla’s passion for teaching was sparked when she moved to China for 6 months to teach musical theatre. She has now been teaching for over 5 years whilst still performing in Christmas and summer productions. Isla continuously looks for opportunities to build upon her teaching skills and hopes to create a safe, inclusive and equally challenging space for all students. She cannot wait to work with the students at starcast!

Isla’s Qualifications:

Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre

BA Hons in Theatre

Paediatric First aid

First aid (including Automated external defibrillator and Adrenaline Auto Injections)

Level 2 Mental Health First aid and advocacy in the workplace

Level 2 Counselling Skills

Theatric Awards TV Presenting Teacher

Level 3 Safeguarding

Currently completing Level 5 Dance teaching Diploma with BBO Dance
