SAMANTHA HOLLOWAY AISTD
STARCAST PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL FOUNDER
I moved to Salisbury when I was 10 years old and I attended dance classes at The Salisbury School of Dance nearly every day after school. From there I was selected for a place at a top London Dance and Musical Theatre College - Laine Theatre Arts.
I trained at the UK's top dance college, Laine Theatre Arts, for three years full time in street jazz, commercial dance, Musical Theatre and Drama, where I also gained my full teaching qualifications in ballet, modern and tap.
I then embarked on a ten year career as a professional dancer in Theatres and TV world wide, working with the UK's top choreographers and directors.
At the age of 28 I was offered a position at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Surrey, as a Children's Theatrical Agent, where I found professional work for children in the West End, TV and Film. I also would inspect their Schools and look for new talented students. I worked in this role for 10 years. During this time I opened my own Theatre Arts Schools where I had over 350 budding starlets training in Dance Classes, Singing Lessons and Drama Classes with me! Many of whom worked professionally in TV and Theatre. At the last count ten of my students were in the West End's production of "Oliver"! I was very sad to leave my Theatre Schools but I wanted my family to experience living in the country and back in my home town.
I moved back to my home town of Salisbury in 2008 and now I have over 260 students training at my Starcast Performing Arts Schools in this area. I have enjoyed working with the children in Salisbury immensely, they really appreciate the training we offer as there are few schools like Starcast is the Salisbury area.
I love seeing how my students improve in skill and confidence every term.
I have such a strong belief that Theatre Arts can benefit every child. With Starcast I hope the children will learn to be confident, expressive, diligent and happy - skills for life!
