Starcast Companies and Troupes win big at Basingstoke Festival

On the 2nd March Starcast Performing Arts School Companies and Troupes attended the Basingstoke Music and Arts Festival. The Festival is a yearly festival of music, speech, drama and dance for people of all ages.

30 Drama students entered the dramatic monologues and duologues category.

The results are as follows:-

Monologue 13 and under class winner Freya Deadman

Monologue 13 and under class winner Isla Underwood

Monologue 15 and under class 2nd place Amy Hayden

Monologue 15 and under class joint 3rd place Beatrice Wild and Sophie Morgan

Monologue 18 and under class winner Amy Scrivens – Also winner overall awarded the Bristol Cup

Monologue 18 and under class 2nd place Ceylan Kaynak

Monologue 18 and under 3rd  place Lauren Rooney and Rosie Fielder

Monologue 18 and over class winner Emily Moores

 

Duologues 15 and under winners – Tilly Docx and Kaiya Thompson

Duologues 15 and under joint 2nd  – Beatrice Wild and Grace Bragg. Isla Underwood and Freya Deadman

Duologues 18 and under winners – Shivam Padiyar and Amy Scrivens – Also overall winners scoring an outstanding 95/100 points.

Duologues 18 and under 2nd place  – Lauren Rooney and Ceylan Kaynak

Duologues 18 and under 3rd place – James Mills and Georgia May Rose

Duologues 18 and over winners – Rosie Fielder and Emily Moores

There was incredible talent from across the South East of England. It was also a very tough marking structure and we are delighted that all our students achieved Merit or above which is an outstanding achievement of at least 80 points. A special mention goes to Amy and Shivam who scored a phenomenal 95/100 points!
